Three stories of life along the margins in Mexico City converge in this inventive thriller. Octavio falls in love with Susana, his sister-in-law. Upset by how his brother treats her, Octavio turns to dog fighting to save money and run away together. Valeria is a beautiful model whose career is interrupted by a car accident. While recuperating with her lover Daniel, her dog drives a wedge between the pair. Soft-spoken Chivo, a former guerilla fighter, adopts homeless dogs to fill the void in his life left by his estranged daughter.
